About

“EVA FRANKFURTHER – Das Leben malen” is a solo exhibition at Kunsthaus Dahlem showing more than 40 paintings and works on paper. It presents the work of Eva Frankfurther, one of the remarkable rediscoveries of British postwar art. Her portraits and studies of milieus focus on people whose everyday lives were shaped by work, migration and social insecurity, especially in London’s East End. The show is the first to devote itself to her short but intense œuvre, capturing migration, exile and the lives of immigrant and working-class communities in postwar London.
