About
Liebermanns Welt is a documentation exhibition in the Max Liebermann Haus on Pariser Platz, recalling the life of the painter Max Liebermann (1847–1935) and his family. The Stiftung Brandenburger Tor, based in the rebuilt former home of the artist, presents highlights of his career as a co-founder of the Berlin Secession and president of the Academy of Arts, as well as the family's tragic fate after 1933. A virtual reality experience reconstructs the house and glass studio, destroyed in the Second World War, and brings his art collection to life digitally. From April 2026, new chapters on Martha Liebermann are added, created together with the Berlin artist Josefine Reisch.
