About

The Mongolian Culture Day offers insights into cultural traditions and contemporary life in Mongolia. It is organised by the Museum of Prehistory and Early History Berlin, the agency Mongolian Step and the Embassy of Mongolia, funded by the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. With the traditional ankle-bone game, insights into cashmere production, lectures on archaeology in the Mongolian steppe and on the tradition of praise singing, it paints a many-sided picture of the country. The musical highlight is the internationally performing quartet TengerTon, which combines Mongolian tradition with contemporary influences through the Morin Khuur horsehead fiddle, overtone singing and its own arrangements.
