SPECIAL PROGRAMME “COME CLOSER”
ACUDkino, Veteranenstraße 21, 10119 Berlin, Mitte
About
The special programme “COME CLOSER” presents six award-winning Lithuanian short films that have screened at major international festivals such as Cannes, Berlinale and Venice since 2019. It is held as part of the festival Litauisches Kino Goes Berlin, organized and curated by Lithuanian Giedrė Simanauskaitė, which brings Lithuanian cinema and culture to Berlin. The selection traces the emergence of a new generation of Lithuanian filmmakers and the growing international presence of their work. It includes, among others, “COMMUNITY GARDENS/KOLEKTYVINIAI SODAI” by Vytautas Katkus about a father and son, “TECHNO, MAMA/TECHNO, MAMA” by Saulius Baradinskas about Nikita, who dreams of going to “Berghain”, and “OOTID/OOTID” by Eglė Razumaitė about rumors at a summer camp.
