About
Carmen is an opera at the Royal Opera House on the Main Stage, sung in French with English surtitles. Director Damiano Michieletto stages Georges Bizet's score, with libretto by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy, conducted by Sesto Quatrini. In a Spanish town, the free-spirited Carmen seduces police officer Don José, who abandons his career for her, until her attention turns to the toreador Escamillo and his jealousy threatens to erupt violently. The cast includes Ginger Costa-Jackson and Ramona Zaharia as Carmen, alongside Russell Thomas and Valentyn Dytiuk as Don José.
