About
An album launch night at a jazz club presenting two sets of original music. Guitarist and composer Jean de Talhouët leads ONMO, whose first release is entitled In Time and Spirit, with Jonathan Chung on tenor saxophone, Mike Soper on trumpet, Reuben Goldmark on piano, Huw V Williams on double bass and Maxwell Hallett on drum kit. The music is dynamic and broad ranging, inspired by jazz greats such as Wayne Shorter and Joe Henderson and contemporary composers such as Nik Bartsch and Steve Reich. Blending spiritual grooves, polyrhythms, modal explorations and lyricism, it is in turns aerial and uplifting, dense and brooding, contemplative and yearning, inspiring movement and dance.
