About

This is a solo exhibition of new paintings titled "Evidence to the Contrary" at the Miles McEnery Gallery. It features twenty-five new works by artist Roy Dowell, each made of vinyl emulsion on linen over panel and all sharing the same twenty-four by eighteen inch format. The works are meditations on the artist's personal cabinet of curiosities, his memory of objects, and his life between Mexico City and Los Angeles. The show is accompanied by a fully illustrated printed catalogue with an essay by writer Geun-jun Chungwoo-Michael Lim.
