About
'A Scanner Darkly' is an animated film by Richard Linklater based on Philip K. Dick's novel. In a near-future California, a drug called 'D' makes people lose all grip on reality, and the state has the population spied on by undercover police. The cop Bob, himself addicted to the substance, wears a highly modern disguise suit and is ordered to surveil his friends and himself. Starring Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey Jr., Woody Harrelson and Winona Ryder.

Critics
7.4Very good
Critics praise the hypnotic rotoscoped visuals, the faithful Dick adaptation and strong acting, especially Downey Jr. They fault heavy dialogue, a plot that goes nowhere at times and a distancing, hard-to-follow story.
