Before Sunset

«Before Sunset» is a feature film from the USA, set in Paris. Nine years after one shared night in Vienna, Jesse and Céline meet again and talk about love, dreams and their lives. Richard Linklater directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with lead actors Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, who reprise the once-young couple as they now, older and with unhealed wounds, explore the conversation. A walking tour of a city as a curious dialogue, whose former naivety now carries a bitter aftertaste.

8.4Very good

Critics praise the natural dialogue, the leads' chemistry and the mature deepening of the first film's romance. Faults are sparse: mild complaints about thin plot, crude language and ambiguous age details.
