À la carte

"À la carte" is an object theatre piece in English lasting 60 minutes. It asks what a person's belongings say about them: the audience receives a sheet of paper showing a drawing of a fully packed desk, where each number stands for an object, and can choose a number, upon which the performance unfolds. Direction, text and performance are by Inbal Yomtovian, who returns to Berlin with this piece; the artistic collaboration is shared by Elise Clary, Lélia Decourt, Olivier Debos and Rebecca Francois, with illustration by Lisa Cruz. Inspired by the works of the artist Daniel Spoerri and his book "Anekdoten zur Topografie des Zufalls", it creates a strong space of imagination in which humorous banalities, biographical turning points and intimate injuries unfold side by side.
