About
BEYOND LINES is a site-specific dance performance at the Tränenpalast, a significant Berlin memorial site and former border crossing. Behind the project are choreographer Kosmas Kosmopoulos and the initiative LUNA PARK e.V., which since 2003 has combined professional dance production with sociocultural practice; it is realised jointly with the Haus der Geschichte Foundation as part of Berlin Freedom Week. The performance explores crossing borders: departure, waiting, fear and hope, leaving behind homeland and the familiar, and the courage to step into the unknown. At this place of farewell and transition, choreographic images of resistance, loss and change emerge, inviting the audience to experience the Tränenpalast as a place of remembrance and of new encounters.
