About

Bilderkeller is a guided tour of wall paintings in the cellar of the Akademie der Künste at Pariser Platz. The Akademie der Künste presents preserved wall paintings from 1957 and 1958, among them naked women and men in tailcoats. They are part of the eventful history of the institution and its building, and the master students of the German Akademie der Künste celebrated carnival in the coal cellar there in 1957 and 1958, in the middle of the political 'thaw' period.
