About

'Glücklich die Glücklichen' brings a novel by Yasmina Reza to the stage at the Berliner Ensemble in its first production in the German language. Stage director and artistic director Oliver Reese adapted the work for the theatre from a version translated out of French by Frank Heibert and Hinrich Schmidt-Henkel. Five performers deliver linked monologues on love affairs, marriages, longings and private resentments among the Parisian bourgeoisie. Their stories keep circling one question: are these people genuinely happy with their lives?
