KUCKUCKSNEST

KUCKUCKSNEST is a chamber play at GRIPS Podewil am Alex that deals with mental health within a family. It was written by Nina van Tongeren and appears here in a German translation by Henriette Festerling as the German-language premiere, directed by Sabine Trötschel. It follows the sisters Saffa and Nim, whose mother swings between wanting to fly to Mallorca out of season and sitting on the roof, singing and refusing to come down. While Nim wants to turn to the youth welfare office, Saffa does everything to hide that she is the one looking after food, the gerbil and practically everything else at home, hoping to keep the family together at any price.
