About
Martinsfest fills the open-air museum of Museumsdorf Düppel with lantern light as visitors of all ages walk through woods, meadows and the reconstructed medieval village. It is put on by Berlin Museum: Museumsdorf Düppel. As dusk falls, young and old gather on the village green to share the story of Saint Martin and the beggar, with the saint riding ahead of the procession on horseback. The fairy-tale witch Silberzweig tells stories while the group 'Wolgemut' plays music to sing along to – and everyone should bring their own lantern.
