Melting Pot
Berliner Festspiele, Schaperstraße 24 10719 Berlin
About
„Melting Pot“ is a concert as part of Jazzfest Berlin in which young improvising musicians share a stage in front of an audience without long rehearsal periods. The European cooperation project of the Berliner Festspiele / Jazzfest Berlin with partners in Ghent, Wrocław and Oslo brings together a new line-up each year – this time for the first time saxophonist Heidi Kvelvane, guitarist Haroun Iqbal, double bassist Mikołaj Nowicki and drummer Raiga Hayashi. Artists with different backgrounds meet beyond their usual contexts, improvise together and cross stylistic and geographical boundaries to create something new live. Afterwards, students of the Jazz Institut Berlin play a neighbourhood session at Café Carla that anyone interested in music can actively join.
