About
Melting Pot is a live session by young improvising musicians at the Jazz-Institut Berlin, followed by Kiez-Session #3 / Carla Jam at Café Carla. The European cooperative project is run by Berliner Festspiele / Jazzfest Berlin, Handelsbeurs (Ghent), Jazztopad (Wrocław) and Nasjonal Jazzscene Victoria (Oslo), each of which invites one musician from its region. This year, saxophonist Heidi Kvelvane, guitarist Haroun Iqbal, double bassist Mikołaj Nowicki and drummer Raiga Hayashi come together for the first time to improvise live without long rehearsal, creating something new beyond stylistic and geographic borders. Admission is free.
