About
The NoonSong is a concert and meditation: half an hour of choral and organ music with a reading. It is carried by the professional soloist ensemble sirventes berlin, founded by Stefan Schuck in 2003, who is also its artistic director; the singers perform mostly a cappella, the organ frames the beginning and the end, and since 2008 the NoonSong has sounded at Kirche Am Hohenzollernplatz at midday on Saturdays. This NoonSong lets listeners experience Mendelssohn's influence on Anglican church music through his popular eight-part motet "Denn er hat seinen Engeln befohlen", which travelled to England as part of his oratorio "Elias".
