"Rope for Absolute Beginners" is a weekly class on Japanese-inspired rope bondage, also called shibari or kinbaku, for anyone who wants to tie or to be tied. It covers what Japanese-inspired rope bondage is, the tools used and why they are designed the way they are, the fundamental principles of shibari with first techniques to use right away, as well as history, anatomy, psychology and safety. Behind the class is Caritia, a Berlin-based kink activist and shibari educator and co-founder of Karada House and OhYesPlease.org. The class welcomes all bodies, genders and sexualities, solo, paired or in groups; ropes are provided and the language is English.
