Sternbrücke Forever
ACUDkino, Veteranenstraße 21, 10119 Berlin, Mitte
About
Sternbrücke Forever is a documentary about Hamburg's Sternbrücke and the unique microcosm of clubs, kiosks, workshops and neighbourhood life beneath it, whose demolition has been decided. The film comes from director Christian Hornung, who quietly observes and follows the community there. It portrays everyday life, farewell and resistance among the local people and asks who the city belongs to. The screening shows the German version in Kino 2.

Critics
Critics praise the quiet observation, the warm-hearted portrait of local people and the vivid insights into their disappearing microcosm. They fault the film's neglect of the broader urban-planning context behind the demolition.
