About
The tactile tour is a guided walk along Bernauer Straße, a site of Germany's division, where participants experience the former Berlin Wall in the former border strip through movement, touching and listening. It was developed together with blind and visually impaired people and aims to make the historic site accessible to visitors with blindness or visual impairment. Tactile media, wall remnants, historical objects and sounds convey the consequences of the Wall's construction, such as the destruction of urban space, separated families and escape attempts. Sighted participants are also welcome and gain a special way of experiencing history; assistance dogs and sighted companions are welcome.
