ugly duckling
Deutsches Theater, Schumannstraße 13a, 10117 Berlin, Mitte
About
"ugly duckling" is a theatre production playing in the Kammer stage of a Berlin theatre. It was developed by director Bastian Kraft with an ensemble, based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales. The tales are set against the biographies of Berlin drag queens, who turn the play with gender roles into a liberating spectacle. Transformation through make-up and wigs produces not only a new self but also a new self-confidence.
