About
Paths of Glory is Stanley Kubrick's anti-war film starring Kirk Douglas and Ralph Meeker, set during World War I. Soldiers are sent by their generals into a hopeless battle and thus to certain death. When the young men refuse blind obedience, an example is to be made of them. Kubrick's powerful film exposes the absurdity and injustice of military hierarchy.

Critics
8.8Outstanding
Critics praise the searing indictment of war and military hierarchy, the precise direction and powerful imagery. Little is faulted; the brief combat scenes and short running time are minor points.
