"Würdevoll" is a purely observational documentary that takes an intimate, calm look at everyday life in a residential care home. Director Elke Frey made it as a labour of love, portraying this stage of life away from the big political debates – a film about a system at its limit, in which the dignity of the individual plays the most important role. Only the residents and their relatives speak for themselves, without any artificial drama.
