About

Gathering Ground is an exhibition at Tate Modern exploring art's power to inspire change in today's ecological crisis. It brings together works from Tate's Collection highlighting the connection between environmental and social justice, inviting us to reimagine our relationships with the natural world and each other. Artists including Outi Pieski, Abbas Akhavan, Bruce Conner, Zheng Bo, Joydeb Roaja, Abel Rodriguez, Munem Wasif, Minerva Cuevas and Carolina Caycedo feature, alongside a new commission by Abbas Zahedi, honouring Indigenous knowledge, nurturing queer multispecies relations and documenting issues such as displacement and destruction of land and waterways. Set in a former oil and coal power station, the exhibition offers a shared space to reflect on our role in creating a more equal world, asking how we can be good Ancestors for future generations.
