About

Displaced is an event at October Gallery bringing together five intergenerational diaspora artists: Charlie Phillips OBE, Navinder Nangla, BAFTA winner Darcy Thomas, Ryan Hawaii and ARU. It is presented by Art Ain't Trash and explores waste colonialism, human migration and storytelling through upcycled art, archival photography and ancestral material practices. Using discarded plastic, reclaimed textiles and salvaged media, the artists transform materials shaped by histories of displacement into works exploring resilience, resourcefulness and the relationship between people, place and material.
