About
The Message Is in the Pattern is the third edition of iniva's Post-National Digital Pavilion, a digital programme presented in collaboration with the British Council at the 61st Venice Biennale. Curated by Beatriz Lobo with programme support by Vasita (Pleng) Jirathiyut, it responds to Lubaina Himid's British Pavilion commission and explores how collective care, tradition-making and belonging are built through everyday practices such as cooking, braiding and gathering. Three artists, Anya Paintsil, Rajyashri Goody and Rose Afefé, are supported to make new commissions in their local contexts, while four writers from an international open call will respond to the works in a digital publication. The programme runs online from 1 May to 30 November 2026, continuing iniva's transnational, research-led public programmes.
