About

ONe_Orchestra New is an improvising large-group orchestra performing two sets of improvised music at the Vortex Jazz Club. The ensemble brings together seventeen musicians on saxophones, oboes, flutes, voice, sitar, piano, keyboards, turntables, electric guitar, double bass and electronics. Their work in large-group improvisation seeks to free themselves and their listeners from default assumptions built up through the centuries-long predominance of cis men in music. The shared experiences and sense of safety among the members allow them to explore boldly, uncovering new ways of hearing and new things to hear.
