About

Puccini's Tosca is an operatic thriller about love, murder, and political intrigue set in the heart of Rome. The fierce heroine Floria Tosca must use all her wits to rescue her lover, the painter Cavaradossi, from the cruel police chief Scarpia. Oliver Mears directs this riveting opera, starring Aleksandra Kurzak in the title role, relocated to modern-day Rome with designs by Simon Lima Holdsworth and costumes by Ilona Karas. Its intense storytelling and powerful score include unforgettable pieces such as 'Vissi d'arte' and 'E lucevan le stelle'.
