About

"Beyond the Norm?" is a public dialogue-based tour for adults through the new presentation of the collections of the Ethnological Museum. It takes a queer look at gender and sexuality in the ethnological collection. The tour offers insights into diverse gender roles, forms of relationships and sexualities around the globe, social norms and initiation rituals. Colonial collecting practices and the establishment of gender narratives in the museum context are also critically addressed; the tour lasts 60 minutes and is held in German.
