About
"Bitte mit B" is a symphony concert marking the start of the concert season. Conductor Ádám Fischer presents a programme of the three great Bs of classical music: Beethoven, Brahms and Bartók. It features Beethoven's Egmont Overture, Bartók's suite "Der wunderbare Mandarin" – whose Cologne premiere triggered one of the biggest theatre scandals of the 20th century – and Brahms' First Symphony, which Hans von Bülow reverently called "Beethoven's Tenth Symphony". A short introduction takes place 45 minutes before the concert in the Beethoven-Saal.
