„Die andere Seite“ is a pandemic drama by Mariko Minoguchi, showing here as a premiere followed by a talk with lead actress Nina Hoss, the director and further members of the film team. Hanna, a doctor infected with a deadly virus, loses her family and, before she can be interned in a quarantine camp, flees into the solitude of the Alps. When she meets Lila (Precious Mariam Sanusi), a young woman likewise cast out by society, the two set off together for the south, where a life in freedom still seems possible. Against a rugged mountain backdrop, the film tells of flight, freedom and experiences of boundaries.
