About
„Everytime“ is a cinema film that captures a parallel world in which the bereaved move about; it looks suspiciously like the world of the non-bereaved, but time, space and logic work differently there. Two years after teenager Jessie's death, her family drifts closer to her friend Lux, while any moment can become a fracture through which grief seeps back in. The film was directed by Sandra Wollner; the leading roles are played by Birgit Minichmayr, Tristán López, Carla Hüttermann and Lotte Shirin Keiling. At Cannes 2026, it was awarded the prize for best film in the „Un certain regard“ section.

Critics
8.5Outstanding
Critics praise the poetic, formally daring direction, surprising imagery and unpretentious handling of grief. They fault slack stretches in the middle and a thin, overly cerebral treatment of emotion.
