Heimsuchung
About
The cinema filmkunst 66 is showing the film "Heimsuchung – Eine Jahrhundertgeschichte". Volker Schlöndorff adapted Jenny Erpenbeck's 2007 novel, telling how four families experience one plot of land by a Brandenburg lake over a century. Its changing inhabitants live through the Weimar Republic, the Third Reich, the war, the GDR and reunification while searching for home and belonging. Lars Eidinger, Martina Gedeck, Susanne Wolff, Ulrich Matthes, Detlev Buck and Michael Maertens appear in the film.

Critics
Praised are the historical panorama and the strong ensemble. Faulted is the overly explicit, explanatory storytelling that leaves viewers unstretched.
