About

The film 'Dua' follows 13-year-old Dua, who navigates friendship, first love and growing up in Pristina in the late 1990s while political tensions intensify. It is directed by Blerta Basholli, who draws on her own experiences during the Kosovo war. Seemingly everyday moments, such as a teenage party interrupted by the police, conversations at home, time with friends and Dua's growing interest in judo, make the political reality visible. When an incident shakes her community, Dua begins to see the violence around her differently, while her family is confronted with the possibility of leaving Kosovo.
