Die Verwandlung

"Die Verwandlung" is a musical live radio play based on Franz Kafka, staged at ATZE Musiktheater. In three chapters it tells how the cloth merchant Gregor Samsa wakes up one morning transformed into a monstrous insect, alienating himself from his surroundings and from his own self. The music by Sinem Altan is closely interwoven with the story, illustrating and commenting on the events in constant interaction with the female speaker. In this way Kafka's grotesque imagery arises from language and sound in the audience's imagination.
