Être vu

“Être vu (Seen)” is a French film from 2024. Filmmaker Bynone, who also appears in it, presents his work alongside Gaudéric Maléjac and Gaëlle Hostetteler. Homeless in Paris after investing everything in a low-budget film, Bynone seeks out a former partner to obtain her consent for an explicit scene they once shot together. Revisiting the footage brings old hierarchies, racialized power dynamics and unexpressed desire to the surface – a black-and-white meditation on desire, migration, race, class and visibility.
