About

"Las Americas" is a public dialogical guided tour for adults at the Ethnologisches Museum. Organized by the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, it explores the diverse indigenous cultures of the Americas such as the Haida, Kwakwakaʼwakw, Inca, Maya and Lakota. It discusses current collaborations with First Nations from Canada and indigenous societies from the Amazon region, as well as the museum's handling of cultural assets from colonial contexts and restitution. Highlights include Kwakwaka'wakw dance masks and stone-carved scenes of the Mesoamerican ritual ball game; the tour lasts 60 minutes and is held in German.
