About
Metaxy is an immersive dance performance loosely inspired by Nietzsche's The Birth of Tragedy, combining contemporary dance with electronic music, light, special effects and video projections. It is created by Renato De Leon/Leonis Works, who lead concept and artistic direction, with music selected and mixed live by Berghain resident DJ Norman Nodge. The piece follows a central figure caught between the Apollonian world of order and discipline and the Dionysian world of emotion, desire and freedom, searching for balance. An immersive exhibition extends the world of the piece and can be experienced before and after the performance.
