About

Cyclops is an intermedial performance that puts the camera at its centre as an omnipresent, all-powerful producer of images. Performer Zé de Paiva makes his directing debut at Ballhaus Naunynstraße, drawing together his experience as an actor, dancer, photographer and video artist. Together with dancer Nasheeka Nedsreal, he seeks to warp the postcolonial order of images. The piece is a dance with cables and eyes, a struggle over possibilities of movement as Black protagonists.
