About
Pulse (Kairo) is a Japanese horror film from 2001 by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, starring Masatoshi Matsuo, Koyuki, Kumiko Aso, Haruhiko Kato, Kurume Arisaka and Kōji Yakusho. Young people come across a mysterious website that offers a black room and invites them to meet ghosts. The program fascinates its users so deeply that they fail to notice they are themselves turning into the eerie online offering and vanishing from real life. The subtle horror film largely does without special effects and gore, instead making loneliness and the longing for death in society central themes of horror.
