About

La Distance is a play set in 2077, when Earth is breaking and part of humanity lives in exile on Mars. A father still on Earth struggles to maintain his relationship with his daughter, who is building a new life on Mars, as they attempt to build a dialogue through very long-distance calls. It is an intimate, inventive play by Portuguese playwright and director Tiago Rodrigues, current director of the Festival d'Avignon, where it was first performed, exploring separation, hope and the bond between parent and child within a collapsing world. Original cast members Alison Dechamps and Adama Diop reprise their roles as father and daughter.
