About
"Angabe der Person" is a theatre play by Elfriede Jelinek at the Deutsches Theater, in which tax investigators search private premises and confiscate papers. On those papers gather the stories of a long life, mostly of the dead, while a voice looks back on its own life's course. It tells of Jewish family history, flight and persecution, compensation of perpetrators, and old and new Nazis. It is directed by Jossi Wieler, who has worked closely with Jelinek for thirty years; the award-winning premiere production here marks its 50th performance.
