About

"Splitter" is a biographical theatre piece at Theater Strahl, suitable from age 14 and 90 minutes long. It collects fragments of memory such as smells, objects, letters and photo albums and reassembles them. The search for traces leads back to a country that no longer exists: the GDR. The piece was developed from the performers' own family stories shaped by escape, emigration and staying (or being left behind), and asks what the GDR still has to do with us.
