About
"Deutscher Herbst" is a theatre evening at Deutsches Theater Berlin. Director Christopher Rüping wrote and stages the new play, in which a daughter asks her father questions the man with dementia can no longer answer. Borrowing its title from Stig Dagerman's 1946 travel report, the evening tells of forgetting, speechlessness and possible utopias of the present. To do so, Rüping and his ensemble listen closely to German history, from Romanticism to wars and ruins.
