"Das Herz eines Boxers" is a theatre piece for audiences aged 12 and up, recommended from grade 7, with a running time of 1:10 hours without an intermission. Written by Lutz Hübner and directed by Jessica Weisskirchen, it tells of 17-year-old Jojo, who is sentenced to community service in a nursing home after a theft. There he meets the taciturn Leo, once a fallen professional boxer, with whom he develops an unusual friendship and hatches a plan to take both their lives into their own hands. Thirty years after its premiere at GRIPS Theater, this 1996 classic of youth theatre returns and takes a fresh look at loneliness, anger, vulnerability, solidarity and respect.
