About

"Manatunga" is an exhibition presenting three large-scale artistic interventions in the Oceania section of the Ethnologisches Museum at the Humboldt Forum. It features the Māori artist George Tamihana Nuku, one of New Zealand's leading contemporary artists, who works among other things with plexiglass. The works were created during two fellowships as part of the initiative "Das Kollaborative Museum" and draw connections to the historical objects of the museum's Oceania collection. They include a plexiglass canoe in the boat hall and works made from plastic waste addressing ecological themes.
