"Als die Mauer Berlin teilte" (When the Wall Divided Berlin) is a guided tour for families with children aged 8 to 12 at the Berlin Wall Memorial on Bernauer Straße. Participants search together for small and large traces of the Berlin Wall and discover why there is a memorial here in particular and what its task is. Using wall remnants, photographs and eyewitness accounts, it addresses questions such as: Why was a wall built, how did it change people's lives, how did families experience the division, and who brought the wall down? Together the group also considers what memories exist in their own families and what significance the Berlin Wall still has today.
