About
Casablanca is a 1942 feature film directed by Michael Curtiz, starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in their signature roles. During the Second World War, refugees, adventurers, agents and Vichy police officers meet in Rick's Bar in Casablanca. There the cynical bar owner unexpectedly encounters his great love, the wife of a Hungarian resistance fighter. The revival of the romance fails because her husband must first be saved from his Nazi persecutors.

Critics
9.0Outstanding
Critics praise the cast's performances, memorable dialogue and finely judged blend of humor, romance and suspense. Some note the plot's formulaic conventions, and a few found the film only passable rather than exceptional.
