About
"Das Flüstern der Wälder" is a documentary about life in the quiet, moss-covered forests of the Vosges. Behind it is wildlife photographer and director Vincent Munier, who spends more than eight hundred nights there together with his father Michel and his son Simon, searching for foxes, deer, stags, lynxes and the mysterious capercaillie, the king of the forest. Instead of compiling dramatic highlights, the film tells of the waiting in the hiding place and listens to the cracking and whistling of the forest long before an animal appears, capturing both the overwhelming beauty and the fragility of nature.
